Target Marketing to Children

Marketing products and services continues to evolve as new target audiences and ways to distribute media messages are identified. One of the fastest growing target markets for many types of media is children. This has resulted in an increase of not only the amount spent on advertising to kids, but also how much children themselves are spending or influencing their caretakers to spend. This kit will examine the way advertisers target youth to generate spending and create brand loyalty and will encourage discussion of the ethics involved in this practice.

Included in the Media Literacy Toolbox DVD-ROM.
