Tobacco

Tobacco ads make smoking seem glamorous and exciting. For decades, the tobacco companies denied that their ads targeted kids and teens, but their own secret files, now available to public scrutiny, prove that they were doing just that. Though the tobacco industry claims that it has changed, critics charge that tobacco advertising and promotions continue to target kids and teens. In this kit, learners examine old and new cigarette ads to identify the likely target audiences.

Included in the Media Literacy Toolbox DVD-ROM.
